Pelicans Seek to Soar Over Suns in Smoothie King Center Showdown

The team's performance has been a rollercoaster ride with their last three games showcasing both ends of the spectrum. Despite a commendable effort against Orlando Magic, where they scored 106 points and led for over 13 minutes with a 60 percent success rate on fast breaks, they fell short by 15 points. This was partly due to their defensive struggles, allowing 121 points and achieving only a single block throughout the game.

In contrast, when facing Brooklyn Nets away from home, the Pelicans demonstrated defensive prowess by limiting their opponents to just 91 points and boasting an impressive defensive rating of approximately 97. Their offensive output remained consistent as they tallied up another win with over half of their field goal attempts finding success.

However, it was in front of their home crowd against Portland Trail Blazers where New Orleans truly shined. A commanding performance saw them lead for nearly the entire game (over 42 minutes), culminating in a dominant victory with an offensive rating soaring above 124 and converting more than half of both two-pointers and three-pointers attempted.

With these trends in mind, fans can anticipate that if New Orleans can replicate its robust defense from Brooklyn while maintaining its high-scoring offense displayed against Portland at home court advantage could prove pivotal.
