In Game 1 against OKC, despite a valiant effort that saw them leading for over 15 minutes and boasting six blocks, NOP ultimately fell short by just two points. Their defensive prowess was evident with an impressive defensive points per possession of 0.98 compared to OKC's 0.96. However, offensive execution was lacking as they only managed a field goal percentage of 38 percent and were outscored in fast break points.

Game 2 painted a grimmer picture for NOP fans as their team succumbed to a significant defeat with OKC dominating throughout and leading by as much as 34 points. The Pelicans' defense struggled against Thunder's high-octane offense that boasted an effective field goal percentage of an astounding 68 percent.

The most recent encounter at Smoothie King Center saw NOP putting up more resistance but still falling short with an efficiency game score of just over half that of their opponents'. Despite having home-court advantage and drawing fouls effectively (86 percent from the free-throw line), turnovers proved costly with NOP giving away possession on twenty-one occasions.

Looking ahead, it's clear that New Orleans must tighten up their ball handling and capitalize on scoring opportunities in transition if they wish to overcome Oklahoma City's dynamic playstyle. With both teams showing strong rebounding capabilities – each pulling down over fifty rebounds in their last matchup – controlling the boards will be crucial.
