In their last encounter at Smoothie King Center, the Pelicans fell short against the Thunder with a score of 85-106. Despite a valiant effort, turnovers proved costly for New Orleans as they gave up 21 possessions compared to Oklahoma City's 16. The efficiency game score also highlighted areas of concern; while OKC boasted an impressive 93.8, NOP lagged behind at 58.1.

The trend continued in Game 2 where once again turnovers plagued New Orleans (18), contributing to a significant loss of 92-124. Their defensive rating soared to an alarming high of approximately 137 points per hundred possessions while managing only around a hundred offensively.

However, there was a glimmer of hope in Game 1 for New Orleans despite another loss (92-94). They managed to reduce their turnovers (14) and improved both offensive and defensive ratings slightly compared to Game 2.

The key takeaway from these games is that when New Orleans controls possession and maintains defensive discipline, they perform better even though victories have eluded them so far.

Looking ahead, it will be critical for the Pelicans to tighten up their defense and manage possessions more carefully if they wish to change their fortunes against this formidable Thunder team that has shown dominance on both ends of the court.

Fans can catch this pivotal matchup scheduled on May 1st at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City at 7:30 PM local time. Broadcast networks include NBA TV, BSOK, and BSNO for those following from home or on-the-go.
