New Orleans Pelicans pay the paint tax as the Toronto Raptors pass the rock at Scotiabank Arena

The New Orleans Pelicans entered 25-50 and left Scotiabank Arena with a 119-106 result against the the Toronto Raptors, who moved to 41-32. The New Orleans Pelicans vs Toronto Raptors final score reflected the Raptors’ 36 assists against the Pels’ 21, with Toronto holding the edge in total rebounds at 59-49.

First quarter


The New Orleans Pelicans opened with 25 points while the the Toronto Raptors posted 29, and the game featured 2 ties and 1 lead change. The Pels leaned on extra chances with 15 offensive rebounds and 25 second-chance points, while the Raptors countered with 13 offensive rebounds and 17 second-chance points. Saddiq Bey recorded 19 points in the previous game log for New Orleans, while Derik Queen posted 8 rebounds in that same stat line.


Fourth quarter


The New Orleans Pelicans matched their third-quarter output with 31 more in the fourth, while the Raptors closed with 29 behind 10 made three-pointers on 36 percent from deep. The Pels went 7-for-28 from three-point range for 25 percent, and Toronto’s effective field goal rate finished at 57 percent compared with New Orleans at 46 percent.
