The Philadelphia team put up a strong fight but fell just short despite having led for over thirty-one minutes during playtime and achieving twelve steals that demonstrated aggressive defensive play. They had twenty-one points contributed by players coming off their bench and managed nineteen fast-break points compared to twenty-one by New York.
