The game was marked by the Knicks' ability to maintain control throughout, leading for over 34 minutes of playtime and achieving their largest lead of 20 points. Their offensive efforts were bolstered by an impressive shooting performance that saw them make 39 out of 87 field goal attempts, resulting in a field goal percentage of 45 percent. The team's three-point attempts also paid off as they hit 13 out of their total 37 shots from beyond the arc, translating to a three-point percentage of roughly 35 percent.

On defense, the Knicks managed to block five shots and matched the Rockets with six steals each. Their defensive prowess was further highlighted by holding the Rockets to an offensive points per possession rate below one point (0.98), while themselves scoring at an efficient rate of approximately one point per possession (1.09). This defensive effort contributed significantly to their plus-minus rating of +15.

Rebounding played a crucial role in this matchup as well; New York outrebounded Houston by a significant margin with a total rebound count of 60 compared to Houston's tally at just under half that number (44). Of those rebounds for the Knicks, twelve were on the offensive glass which led to thirteen second-chance points.

Contributions from New York's bench were notable too; they added twenty-one points to help secure this win against Houston's fifteen bench points. Additionally, despite committing fifteen turnovers themselves, they capitalized on turnovers made by Houston scoring twelve points off them.
