At Madison Square Garden, the home crowd of 19,133 witnessed an impressive display of basketball as the New York Knicks outperformed the Utah Jazz. The Knicks' offense was firing on all cylinders, leading to a substantial final score advantage and showcasing their dominance throughout most of the game with a time leading of nearly 40 minutes.

The home team's efficiency was evident as they ended with an overall efficiency rating of 145 compared to Utah's 105. This was reflected in their superior shooting percentages across various categories; they shot an impressive 47 percent from the field and were nearly flawless from the free-throw line at an astounding rate of 94 percent. Their three-point efforts were also fruitful, hitting at a rate of 38 percent.

Defensively, New York excelled too, recording seven blocks and nine steals over four quarters. They managed to limit Utah's fast-break opportunities while capitalizing on their own for a total of 24 fast-break points thanks to an incredible conversion rate of 82 percent on such attempts.

A key factor in this win was New York's ability to control turnovers; they only gave up six compared to Utah's fifteen. This discipline allowed them to maximize possessions and contributed significantly to their points off turnovers tallying up to twenty-two.

On top of that, New York showed strength under both baskets by grabbing fifty rebounds – fourteen offensive and thirty-one defensive – which played into their favor by providing additional scoring opportunities through eighteen second-chance points.

The bench contribution might not have been voluminous with just fourteen points but it did not detract from what was otherwise a comprehensive team performance that saw every player contribute towards this victory.
