In their last game against the Denver Nuggets, despite a strong start with 30 points in the first quarter, they couldn't sustain the momentum and ultimately fell short with 100 points to Denver's 113. Their offensive efficiency was notable at 108 points per possession but was overshadowed by a defensive rating that allowed over 120 points per possession.

The previous match saw a more favorable outcome for New York as they secured a victory over Golden State Warriors with an impressive scoreline of 119-112. Their offensive prowess was on full display as they led for almost the entire game and boasted an offensive rating just above 120 points per possession. However, defensively they still conceded over 115 points per possession, indicating that tightening up defense could be key in upcoming games.

Against Sacramento Kings, defense took center stage where New York managed to keep their opponents under control with a defensive rating below 94 points per possession while scoring modestly themselves at just under 99 offensive efficiency. This balance helped them eke out a win despite scoring less than usual.

The trends suggest that when New York focuses on defense without compromising too much on offense, they come out stronger. As they head into Kaseya Center – known for its energetic atmosphere which could influence player performance – maintaining this balance will be crucial against Miami Heat's dynamic playstyle.
