New York Knicks Stifled by Timberwolves' Sharp Shooting at Madison Square Garden

In a recent face-off at Madison Square Garden, the New York Knicks fell short against the Minnesota Timberwolves with a final score of 99-116. This outcome brings the Knicks to a 27-16 record for the season, while the Timberwolves improved their standing to 22-19.

Knicks' Efforts Overshadowed


Despite their best efforts, the New York Knicks struggled to keep pace with the Timberwolves' offensive onslaught. Jalen Brunson led the team with an impressive 26 points, complemented by five assists and two steals, showcasing his all-around game. OG Anunoby also made significant contributions with 18 points and a double-double that included ten rebounds and three assists. His performance was further bolstered by a block and a steal, highlighting his defensive capabilities.


Josh Hart's all-around effort was another bright spot for the Knicks as he tallied 12 points alongside nine rebounds and three steals. However, these individual performances were not enough to secure victory for New York.

Timberwolves Take Control


The Minnesota Timberwolves demonstrated exceptional shooting accuracy throughout the game, finishing with an overall field goal percentage of 53 percent. Their prowess from beyond the arc was particularly notable as they hit an astounding 55 percent of their three-point attempts. This sharpshooting contributed significantly to their largest lead of 17 points during the game.


The Timberwolves also excelled in ball movement, accumulating 23 assists which facilitated their dynamic offense. Their ability to capitalize on turnovers was evident as they scored 12 points off turnovers compared to the Knicks' efforts which yielded only seven more in this category despite ten steals.
