New York Knicks Paint Points Meet LA Clippers Bench Wave at Intuit Dome

The New York Knicks left Inglewood at 41-25 after a 126-118 result against the the LA Clippers, who moved to 32-32 at Intuit Dome on 10:00 PM EDT.

First quarter


The New York Knicks opened with 24 points while the the LA Clippers posted 28 in the first quarter at Intuit Dome.


The Knicks shot 51 percent from the field in the game, and that early shot-making still left them chasing after the Clippers hit 46 percent from 3-point range overall.

The Knicks produced 32 assists on 46 made field goals, yet the Clippers turned takeaways into 24 points off turnovers to keep their edge.


Third quarter


The Knicks put up 26 points in the third quarter, and the the LA Clippers countered with 24 as the margin tightened after intermission.


The Knicks leaned on extra possessions with 14 offensive rebounds and 23 second-chance points as the paint became their scoring base.


New York Knicks post-match stats included 58 points in the paint, built on 64 percent shooting on 2-point attempts.


Fourth quarter


The Knicks scored 37 points in the fourth quarter, and the the LA Clippers matched with 38 to hold the lead through the last stretch.


The Clippers closed behind 22 made free throws on 85 percent and a 3.13 assist-to-turnover ratio, while the Knicks finished at 75 percent on free throws.


The Knicks got a previous-game lift from Karl-Anthony Towns with 35 points and 12 rebounds, and Jalen Brunson’s 28 points and 8 assists in that earlier box line framed the team’s shot-creation role in New York Knicks post-game interviews.
