Oklahoma City Thunder and Memphis Grizzlies Face Off at Paycom Center

As the Oklahoma City Thunder prepare to face off against the Memphis Grizzlies at the Paycom Center, fans are eager to see if their team can harness the momentum from their recent performances. The Thunder have shown a pattern of resilience and offensive prowess, particularly in their game on December 17 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, where they scored 110 points. Despite a loss with a narrow margin of two points, OKC demonstrated an ability to keep pace with their opponents throughout the game.

The Thunder's scoring has been impressive; they notched up 58 points in the paint and had a true shooting percentage of 57 percent. Their bench contributed significantly with 39 points, showcasing depth that could be pivotal against Memphis. However, turnovers were an issue for OKC as they gave up possession 22 times leading to 25 points for Minnesota. This is an area that needs tightening up if they are going to overcome a Grizzlies team known for capitalizing on such mistakes.

In contrast, when looking at OKC's performance against Miami Heat on December 15, there was more balance between offense and defense despite falling short by two points again with a final score of 108-110. They improved in protecting the ball with only 14 turnovers and continued their strong presence inside by scoring another impressive tally of 60 paint points.

The upcoming matchup presents an opportunity for OKC to turn these close losses into wins. The key will be maintaining their high-efficiency offense while reducing turnovers and containing Memphis's transition play.

On defense, Oklahoma City must focus on limiting Memphis's opportunities around the basket where they excel. In previous games like their December 13 encounter against Dallas Mavericks where OKC lost by seven points (114-121), defensive lapses proved costly as they allowed Dallas too much comfort from beyond the arc.

Thunder fans should look forward to seeing whether Coach Mark Daigneault can adjust his strategies effectively enough to secure victory this time around. With players like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leading charge offensively and Luguentz Dort providing tenacity on defense, there is reason for optimism.

The scheduled game date is December 18th at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City starting at 7:00 PM local time (8:00 PM ET). Fans can catch all action live on BSOK or BSSW networks depending upon location or follow along through various streaming services available online.
