The Thunder come into this game with an impressive record of 35 wins and 16 losses, but they're coming off a tough loss against the Brooklyn Nets where they scored 115 points. Despite their defeat, there were positive takeaways from that January 6th encounter. OKC demonstrated a potent offense with an effective field goal percentage of 59 percent and dominated in points in the paint with an astounding 78 percent shooting accuracy. Their bench contributed significantly as well, adding 19 points to the team's total.

However, defense remains a concern for OKC as they allowed Brooklyn to score 124 points. The defensive rating stood at an alarming high of over 123 points per hundred possessions, which indicates that tightening up their defense will be crucial against Washington.

On January 4th against Atlanta Hawks, even though OKC lost by three points with a final score of 138-141, their offensive prowess was on full display. They shot an impressive true shooting percentage of over two-thirds and maintained an assists turnover ratio above two – signs of efficient ball movement and decision-making.

The Wizards will pose their own set of challenges for OKC. They have been formidable opponents this season and will look to capitalize on any defensive lapses by Thunder. To emerge victorious, Oklahoma City must leverage its offensive strengths while shoring up its defense – ensuring that every possession counts both offensively and defensively.
