Will Oklahoma City Thunder Outpace the Pelicans in Next Showdown?

As the Oklahoma City Thunder prepare to host the New Orleans Pelicans at Paycom Center, fans are buzzing with anticipation. The Thunder have been on a roll, and their recent performances suggest they're not slowing down anytime soon.

In their last encounter on April 27th, the Thunder dominated with a commanding 106-85 victory over the Pelicans. Their offense was firing on all cylinders, boasting an impressive 48 percent field goal percentage and an even more remarkable 47 percent from beyond the arc. With a total of 17 three-pointers made, they left no doubt about their shooting prowess.

The defensive end for OKC was just as formidable. They held New Orleans to only 85 points, showcasing a defensive rating of just under 85 points per hundred possessions. This stifling defense was complemented by an efficient offense that scored over 110 points per hundred possessions.

The bench played its part too, contributing a solid 22 points to the team's effort. But it wasn't just about scoring; OKC showed up defensively as well with five blocks and thirteen steals that night.

Looking back at Game 2 of this series paints an even more dominant picture for OKC. They put up a staggering 124 points against NOP's defense while maintaining an effective field goal percentage of nearly 68 percent – numbers that would strike fear into any opponent.

Their largest lead in that game stretched to an overwhelming margin of thirty-four points, underscoring their ability to control games and dictate pace against this particular adversary.

However, it's not all doom and gloom for NOP fans. The Pelicans have shown flashes of brilliance throughout this series as well – particularly in Game One where they managed to keep things competitive despite falling short by two points (94-92). Their resilience is evident in how they led for over fifteen minutes during that game and fought hard until the final buzzer.

But will these moments be enough come May fifth? The statistics suggest otherwise; OKC has consistently outperformed NOP across various metrics including efficiency game score where they've averaged above ninety compared to NOP's sub-seventy average across these games.

With such compelling data favoring Oklahoma City Thunder’s performance leading up to this matchup combined with home-court advantage at Paycom Center – it’s hard not see them continuing their dominance over New Orleans Pelicans when they clash again on Sunday at noon local time (12:00 PM).

Fans eager not miss out on what promises be another exhilarating display can catch live action either attending venue or tuning into broadcasts available through local sports networks or streaming services offering NBA coverage.
