Thunder's Late Surge Falls Short as Suns Shine Bright in Phoenix

The Oklahoma City Thunder faced off against the Phoenix Suns at the Mortgage Matchup Center, ending with a narrow 108-105 victory for the home team. This result brought OKC's record to 30-6, while the Suns improved to 21-14.

First Quarter


The game began with both teams showing strong defensive efforts. The Thunder took an early lead, scoring 26 points compared to the Suns' 20. Chet Holmgren was instrumental in this period, contributing significantly with his defensive prowess and scoring ability.


Second Quarter


In the second quarter, both teams struggled offensively but maintained their defensive intensity. The Thunder managed to add another 23 points while holding the Suns to just 22. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander played a crucial role during this stretch, showcasing his playmaking skills and keeping OKC ahead.


Third Quarter


The third quarter marked a shift in momentum as Phoenix found their rhythm offensively. They outscored OKC by eight points, putting up an impressive 32 against Thunder's 24. Despite this setback, Luguentz Dort continued to make key plays on both ends of the court for OKC.


Fourth Quarter


As tensions rose in the final quarter, it became clear that this would be where fortunes were decided—the Oklahoma City Thunder vs Phoenix Suns turning point emerged here. The Suns capitalized on fast breaks and three-point shooting accuracy to score another 34 points while limiting OKC’s attempts effectively despite their late-game push led by Jalen Williams' dynamic performance.
