Orlando Magic's Defensive Struggles Allow Charlotte Hornets to Soar at Kia Center

The Orlando Magic faced off against the Charlotte Hornets in a challenging game at the Kia Center, resulting in a 120-105 defeat. This outcome brings the Magic's record to 17-14, while the Hornets improve to 11-20. Despite their efforts, O-Town Magic couldn't overcome Buzz City's offensive prowess.

First Quarter


The game began with both teams displaying strong offensive plays. The Hornets took an early lead with 38 points, showcasing their shooting accuracy. The Magic managed to keep pace initially, scoring 28 points thanks to contributions from Desmond Bane and Wendell Carter Jr., who were pivotal in keeping Orlando competitive.


Second Quarter


In the second quarter, defense became crucial as both teams tightened up their gameplay. However, it was Buzz City that managed to maintain control by limiting Orlando's scoring opportunities. The Hornets added another 19 points while holding the Magic to just 20 points in this period.


Third Quarter


The third quarter saw a resurgence from both sides offensively. The Hive buzzed back into action with an impressive display of teamwork and shot-making ability, adding another 39 points. Meanwhile, Jase Richardson stepped up for O-Town Magic with key baskets that contributed significantly during this stretch as they scored 29 points.


Fourth Quarter


Heading into the final quarter trailing behind by double digits proved too much for Orlando despite their best efforts on court led by Anthony Black’s defensive plays and Paolo Banchero’s attempts at closing down gaps defensively; ultimately falling short against Charlotte’s relentless attack which sealed victory through consistent scoring throughout all quarters ending match favorably towards them tallying total scoreline of (120-105).
