Orlando Magic pull a paint-by-numbers finish as Dallas Mavericks trade triples at Kia Center

The the Orlando Magic moved to 33-28 and the Dallas Mavericks slid to 21-41 after a 115-114 finish at Kia Center on 7:00 PM EDT.

First quarter


The Magic opened down 33-26 as the Mavs put up 33 in the quarter.


Dallas built early momentum with 14 made three-pointers on 44 percent shooting from deep for the night.


Orlando answered with 10 steals in the game, turning several of those takeaways into 15 points off turnovers.


Second quarter


The Magic flipped the game by taking the second quarter 34-29 and tightening the ball movement with 31 assists overall.


Orlando leaned into the interior with 56 points in the paint, built on 54 percent finishing on paint attempts.


Dallas stayed attached by getting to the line for 28 attempts and converting 79 percent.


Third quarter


The O-Town Magic kept control with a 31-26 third quarter that featured 14 offensive rebounds and 14 second-chance points.


Orlando Magic post-match stats showed 45 bench points that kept the scoring steady as rotations changed.


For Orlando, Jalen Suggs posted 17 points with 7 assists, and Paolo Banchero logged 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists.


Fourth quarter


The Magic closed it out while the Mavs won the fourth quarter 26-24 and forced late pressure with 28 assists as a team.


Orlando’s finishing margin came from matching Dallas at 15 fast-break points while winning the rebound battle 56-53.


Wendell Carter Jr. supplied 15 points and 7 rebounds, and Tristan da Silva added 19 points with 3 steals, keying game-changing plays Orlando Magic vs Dallas Mavericks.
