First quarter


The Magic opened with 32 points in the first quarter while the Hornets answered with 34. Orlando forced 11 steals in the game, and that pressure helped the Magic generate 21 points off turnovers.


Second quarter


The Magic scored 21 in the second quarter, and the Hornets produced 38 in the same quarter to create separation. Charlotte hit 22 three-pointers on 48 three-point percent, while Orlando went 14 on 33 three-point percent and finished with 50 bench points.


Third quarter


The Magic put up 24 in the third quarter, but the Hornets again scored 38 to stretch the margin as Charlotte’s biggest lead reached 35. Desmond Bane led Orlando with 24 points and added 7 rebounds, and Paolo Banchero posted 20 points with 7 assists.


Fourth quarter


The Magic scored 34 in the fourth quarter as the Hornets scored 20, and Orlando’s 90 free throw percent came from 19 made free throws.
