Orlando Magic open with 39-point first quarter, but can the Cleveland Cavaliers’ paint scoring decide it?

The the Orlando Magic moved to 38-34 after a 136-131 loss to the the Cleveland Cavaliers, who improved to 45-27 at Rocket Arena on 8:00 PM EDT.

First quarter


The the Orlando Magic opened with 39 points in the first quarter while the the Cavaliers scored 32.


The Magic built a 7-point biggest lead while the game produced 5 ties and 3 lead changes.


Second quarter


The the Cavaliers flipped the game with a 40-point second quarter as the Magic put up 29.


The Magic got to the line for 38 free throw attempts and made 35 for 92 percent, while the Cavs went 26-for-29 for 90 percent.


Third quarter


The Magic scored 29 in the third quarter and finished the night with 27 assists against 10 turnovers for a 3.0 assist-to-turnover ratio.


The Cavs scored 33 in the third and finished with 49 made field goals on 60 percent shooting, including 37 made 2-point field goals on 72 percent.


Fourth quarter


The Magic closed with 34 points in the fourth quarter after recording 23 second-chance points on 13 offensive rebounds, and Orlando Magic post-match stats also showed 44 total rebounds and 14 points off turnovers.


Paolo Banchero led the Magic with 36 points while adding 5 assists, and Tristan da Silva added 18 points.


Desmond Bane posted 17 points with 7 rebounds as the Magic finished at 49 percent from the field and 36 percent on 14 made 3-pointers.


The Cavs finished with 62 points in the paint and 14 fast-break points as the Wine and Gold held 1 timeout at the horn.
