The San Antonio Spurs put up a valiant fight as well; leading for almost thirty-three minutes during regulation time before being overtaken by their opponents' late surge. Their bench scored close to what Philadelphia's did but fell short by just two points. A notable aspect was their rebounding advantage; grabbing sixty-five rebounds compared to fifty-seven by Philadelphia which included eleven blocks defensively.


However, turnovers proved costly for San Antonio as they committed twenty-five compared to twelve by Philadelphia which translated into thirty-five points off turnovers for the visiting team. Despite these setbacks including not having any remaining timeouts towards crunch time unlike two still available for Philly – San Antonio showed grit especially when pushing through into double overtime before ultimately succumbing.
