Smoothie King Center Showdown: Phoenix Suns vs. New Orleans Pelicans

As the Phoenix Suns prepare to face off against the New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center, fans can expect an intense NBA matchup. The Suns, coming off a series of challenging games, are looking to regain their momentum on the court.

In their most recent encounter with the Pelicans, despite a strong offensive performance with 117 points and a 50 percent field goal rate, including an impressive 50 percent from beyond the arc, they fell short as they allowed 128 points. The team's defensive struggles were evident with a high defensive rating of over 123 and losing out on both rebounds and points in paint.

The game prior saw them facing a tough Boston Celtics team where they were unable to contain their opponents' offense. Scoring only 98 points compared to Boston's commanding 125-point game highlighted areas for improvement. Their field goal percentage dipped below 40 percent and three-point shooting was just at 25 percent.

However, looking back at another recent game against Dallas Mavericks shows that Phoenix has potential when things click. They put up a good fight scoring over 110 points but again faced defensive issues allowing Dallas to score even more.

The venue could play a significant role in this upcoming game; playing away from home always adds an extra layer of difficulty due to unfamiliar surroundings and lack of home support which could impact player performance.

Fans should watch closely how Phoenix adjusts its defense strategy after recent setbacks and whether they can capitalize on their offensive strengths while minimizing turnovers which have been problematic in past games.
