Trail Blazers Outpaced at Chase Center by Golden State Warriors
The Portland Trail Blazers, with a record of 7-21, faced off against the Golden State Warriors, standing at 15-14. In a game that saw the home team take control, the final score read 126-106 in favor of the Warriors.
At San Francisco's Chase Center, the Portland Trail Blazers started strong with an opening quarter lead scoring 30 points to Golden State's 23. However, momentum shifted as the Trail Blazers were outscored in subsequent quarters. Despite their efforts and leading for nearly twelve minutes during which they had an eleven-point advantage at one stage, it wasn't enough to secure victory.
The Trail Blazers' offense was led by their field goal shooting at a rate of 45 percent and three-pointers made thirteen times out of thirty-five attempts for a three-point percentage of around 37 percent. They also made seventeen free throws from twenty-five attempts. The team showed resilience under pressure with twenty-six assists and only twelve turnovers throughout the game.
Defensively though, Portland struggled to contain Golden State's offense which shot an impressive nearly 58 percent from the field and over 83 percent from the free-throw line. The Warriors also dominated inside with sixty-two points in paint compared to forty-two by Portland.
Portland's bench contributed twenty-eight points but was overshadowed by Golden State's bench who added thirty-nine points to their total score. The Trail Blazers managed eight fast break points but were unable to match up against Golden State’s nine fast break points achieved with superior efficiency.
Rebounding was another area where Portland fell short; they grabbed thirty-nine rebounds while allowing fifty-four to Golden State including thirteen offensive boards which led to fifteen second-chance points for the home team.
Looking ahead after this tough outing on Christmas Eve before a full house attendance at Chase Center, fans can catch their next game when they host Sacramento Kings on December 26th at Moda Center in Portland airing on ROOT Sports NW channel six hundred eighty-seven or NBCS-CA channel six hundred ninety-eight depending on location.
