In their most recent game against the Golden State Warriors, despite scoring 106 points and leading for nearly 12 minutes, they were outplayed by the Warriors who took advantage of Portland's turnovers and defensive lapses. The Trail Blazers showed proficiency from beyond the arc with a three-point shooting percentage of 37 but were ultimately let down by their defense, allowing 126 points.

The game prior presented an even tighter contest where Portland was edged out by just one point against the Washington Wizards.
