In their last outing against the Golden State Warriors, despite putting up 106 points and maintaining a lead for nearly 12 minutes, they fell short by 20 points in a high-scoring affair. The team showed promise offensively with a field goal percentage of 45 and three-point shooting at 37 percent. However, defensively they allowed too many points in paint and struggled to contain fast breaks.

The game prior saw them narrowly defeated by the Washington Wizards by just one point. The Blazers were unable to secure any time leading during this game but showcased their ability to fight back with impressive second-chance points totaling 32 from an astounding second-chance shooting percentage of 74 percent.

Against the Phoenix Suns, however, Portland managed to turn things around with a five-point victory. Their defensive effort was more effective as they held their opponents to just over one point per possession while also capitalizing on turnovers.

Looking ahead at their matchup against the Pelicans, it's clear that maintaining strong defensive pressure will be crucial for Portland if they wish to secure another win on home turf. Fans should look out for how well the Blazers manage fast break situations and whether they can continue generating significant second-chance opportunities – two areas that have shown both promise and need for improvement in recent games.
