The Trail Blazers have been struggling to find consistent form. In their recent matchup against the Charlotte Hornets, they fell short with an 80-93 loss. Despite dominating on rebounds with 64 in total and scoring 21 second-chance points, their shooting accuracy was lackluster – only making 9 percent from beyond the arc and shooting at a mere 35 percent from the field overall.

Their encounter with Denver Nuggets showed some offensive improvement as they managed to put up 112 points but still suffered defensively in a high-scoring affair that ended in a 112-127 defeat. The team's three-point shooting improved slightly to hit at a rate of thirty-two percent; however, it wasn't enough to outpace Denver's efficient offense.

Against Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland faced another tough night as they were overwhelmed by Minnesota’s firepower resulting in a significant loss of 91-128. The Timberwolves' effective field goal percentage stood at fifty-eight percent compared to Portland's forty-two percent – highlighting Portland’s defensive woes.

Looking ahead to their game against Houston Rockets, fans should watch for improvements on both ends of the court. With recent performances showing potential in rebounding and second-chance efforts but lacking efficiency from distance and defensive solidity, adjustments will be crucial for success.

The Moda Center has been known as one of NBA’s louder venues which could provide an extra boost for Portland; however it is clear that more than just home-court advantage is needed if they are going to overcome Houston's challenge.

Catch this intriguing matchup live on ROOT Sports NW+ or Space City Home Network on March 8th at seven o'clock evening local time (Pacific Time Zone).
