Blazers' Valiant Effort Not Enough as Pelicans Secure Victory at Smoothie King Center

Their ability to capitalize on fast breaks was evident as they scored eighteen fast break points from eleven attempts showing better transition play than Portland who managed twelve fast break points from seven attempts.
The home team also dominated inside scoring fifty-eight paint-points while limiting Portland to forty-eight despite both teams having similar attempts within that area. This inside presence contributed significantly towards New Orleans' largest lead which stretched up nineteen during gameplay.
