The home team Charlotte Hornets put up a strong fight but ultimately fell short despite having more steals (10) and blocks (8). They also had more assists than Portland (22), indicating good ball movement on their part but it wasn't enough against Portland's defense which held them off effectively throughout most parts of the game.

Charlotte’s bench scored significantly higher than that of Portland’s with thirty-three bench points but still couldn't overcome the overall performance by the visiting team. The Hornets struggled from long range hitting only sixteen percent from three-point territory which proved costly in such a tight contest.
