The Kings started strong in their home venue, Golden 1 Center, leading the first quarter with 30 points compared to the Rockets' 23. The momentum continued as they finished the half ahead. However, despite their efforts and maintaining a lead for over twenty-six minutes of game time, they couldn't sustain their performance into the second half. The third quarter proved challenging for Sacramento as they only added 14 points to their tally while Houston surged ahead with 32 points.

Sacramento's offense was led by an impressive two-point shooting performance where they made 33 out of 54 attempts resulting in a high conversion rate of sixty-one percent from within the arc. Their free throw accuracy was also notable at eighty-seven percent making twenty out of twenty-three shots from the line. Defensively though, it was not enough to contain Houston's balanced attack which saw them scoring consistently across all quarters and achieving an effective field goal percentage of fifty-four percent. The Rockets also excelled at three-pointers sinking twelve out of twenty-nine attempts which translated into forty-one percent success rate from beyond the arc.

The Kings matched up evenly on rebounds with both teams securing fifty each; however personal fouls by Sacramento amounted to twenty compared to eighteen by Houston which might have impacted defensive pressure throughout playtime.
