First Quarter

The opening quarter saw a sluggish start from Sactown as they managed only 24 points compared to Motor City's explosive 37. The Kings struggled with their shooting accuracy early on, hitting just under half of their field goal attempts. Despite this, DeMar DeRozan stood out with his consistent scoring ability.

Second Quarter

In the second quarter, Sacramento attempted to close the gap by scoring 34 points. Precious Achiuwa contributed significantly with his defensive prowess and rebounding skills. However, Detroit's offensive machine continued its relentless pace, adding another 38 points and maintaining a comfortable lead.

Third Quarter

The third quarter was where Sactown showed signs of life. They scored an impressive 39 points thanks largely to Russell Westbrook's dynamic playmaking and Malik Monk's sharp shooting from beyond the arc. Yet again, Detroit responded robustly with a staggering 40-point performance that kept them ahead.

Fourth Quarter

As both teams entered the final stretch of play, Sacramento pushed hard but could not overcome Detroit’s advantage despite outscoring them in this period by nine points (30-21). The Kings' defense struggled against Motor City's efficient ball movement and paint dominance throughout much of this matchup.

Despite valiant efforts from key players like DeRozan who led all scorers for Sactown with notable efficiency ratings alongside Westbrook’s contributions across multiple facets—what went wrong for Sacramento Kings was evident: defensive lapses allowed too many easy baskets inside while turnovers hampered any sustained momentum offensively.
