Sacramento Kings and Charlotte Hornets trade paint for perimeter as DeMar DeRozan leads Sactown surge

The Sacramento Kings moved to 16-51 after a 117-109 loss to the the Charlotte Hornets, who improved to 34-33, at Golden 1 Center.

First quarter


The Sacramento Kings opened with 34 points in the first quarter while the Hornets scored 30.


DeMar DeRozan set the tone for Sactown with 39 points, 6 assists, and a 77 percent field goal rate.


The Kings produced 45 field goals on 54 percent shooting to keep pace early with Buzz City.


Second quarter
