In their recent matchup against the Dallas Mavericks, despite a high-scoring effort with 119 points and an impressive 32 assists, defensive woes continued as they allowed 144 points. The team's efficiency rating stood out at 128, indicating strong offensive capabilities. However, this was overshadowed by a defensive rating of over 129 points per possession against them.

The trend of high-scoring affairs continued in previous games as well. Against the Milwaukee Bucks, the Spurs managed another solid offensive performance with 119 points and maintained an effective field goal percentage above 50 percent. Yet again though, defense was an issue as they conceded 132 points.
