The home team, despite their less favorable season record, showed commendable performance on their home court. The Spurs led for a substantial portion of the game, clocking in at 36:09 minutes in control compared to just over six minutes for their opponents. Their largest lead was an impressive 12 points, showcasing moments of dominance throughout the match.

San Antonio's efforts were bolstered by an effective field goal percentage of 53 and a two-point shooting success rate of 63 percent. They outrebounded the Pelicans with an outstanding total rebound count of 67 compared to New Orleans' 45. Of these rebounds, an aggressive offensive strategy yielded them 18 offensive boards contributing to second-chance opportunities that resulted in 19 points.

The Spurs also excelled in distributing the ball as evidenced by their higher assist count at 35 assists which is indicative of strong team cohesion and ball movement. However, turnovers proved costly for San Antonio with a total turnover count reaching up to eighteen which translated into twenty-four points for New Orleans off those lost possessions.

Defensively, San Antonio managed ten blocks over New Orleans' three but struggled from beyond the arc making only ten out of thirty-nine three-point attempts resulting in a mere twenty-six percent success rate from deep range.

On offense for New Orleans, they capitalized on fast break opportunities scoring thirteen fast break points and maintained steady scoring across all four quarters. Their bench contributed fourteen points while also drawing more fouls than San Antonio leading to twenty-one free throw attempts though only converting fifteen into points at seventy-one percent accuracy.

Looking ahead after this narrow defeat, fans can anticipate watching their next game where they will face off against Cleveland Cavaliers on February third at seven-thirty PM Central Time right back here at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio or tune into KENS network locally or BSOH channel six hundred sixty for away broadcast coverage.
