The Spurs started strong, outscoring the Rockets in the first quarter with an impressive display of offense that led to a 30-point finish. However, momentum shifted as the second quarter saw them add only 17 points to their tally. The third and fourth quarters were hard-fought battles with the Spurs scoring 25 and then rallying with 29 points in an attempt to seize control of the game.

Despite their efforts, it was not enough to overcome the visiting team's performance. The home team showcased a balanced attack throughout, registering an impressive assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.31 while accumulating a total of 30 assists. Their shooting accuracy was notable as well; they achieved a field goal percentage of about half at precisely 48 percent from all ranges and maintained an effective field goal percentage of approximately half at exactly 54 percent.

The Spurs also dominated inside, scoring more than half their points in paint with remarkable efficiency – converting roughly two-thirds (63 percent) of their attempts from that area into points for a total contribution of over half (52 points). Their bench contributed significantly as well, adding nearly three-tenths (27 points) to San Antonio's overall score.

On defense, both teams matched each other with five blocks apiece. However, it was on rebounds where San Antonio showed strength but still fell short; they grabbed just under four dozen (44 rebounds), two fewer than Houston's count.
