San Antonio Spurs Edge Out Phoenix Suns in a Nail-Biting 104-102 Victory

The San Antonio Spurs' 16-56 season record was marginally brightened with a hard-fought victory over the Phoenix Suns, who hold a 42-30 record. The Spurs showed resilience on their home court, leading for nearly 26 minutes of game time and achieving their biggest lead of 11 points. Their offense was fueled by an impressive free throw percentage of eighty-four percent, converting sixteen out of nineteen attempts. The team's efficiency on the court was evident with an assists turnover ratio of 3.29, showcasing their ability to maintain possession and create scoring opportunities.


Defensively, the Spurs managed to block one shot and steal the ball ten times from their opponents. They capitalized on these turnovers by scoring seventeen points off them. Despite being outrebounded with forty-seven total rebounds compared to fifty-four by the Suns, they made up for it with higher energy plays resulting in sixteen fast break points.

On offense, San Antonio's field goal percentage stood at forty-four percent with forty successful shots out of ninety-one attempts. They also scored more than half their points inside the paint, tallying fifty-two paint points which underscored their aggressive play style.


The Suns were not without merit; they led for almost twenty minutes and had a nine-point advantage at one stage during the game. Their field goal accuracy was slightly better than that of the Spurs at fifty-one percent from all attempts including three-pointers where they shot thirty-six percent making ten out of twenty-eight shots.
