Scotiabank Arena Showdown: Toronto Raptors Dominate Charlotte Hornets

In a competitive matchup at Scotiabank Arena, the Toronto Raptors improved their season record to 11-16 after securing a victory over the Charlotte Hornets with a final score of 114-99. The Hornets now stand at 7-19 following the defeat.

The home crowd of 19,288 witnessed the Raptors' impressive performance as they outplayed the Hornets in various aspects of the game. The Raptors showcased their offensive capabilities by scoring 64 points in the paint compared to the Hornets' 52. Additionally, Toronto's bench contributed significantly with 43 points, demonstrating depth and versatility.


Toronto's efficiency on court was evident as they ended with an overall field goal percentage of 51 while holding Charlotte to just under 44 percent shooting. The home team also excelled from beyond the arc, making eight three-pointers throughout the game. On defense, they limited their opponents to only eight successful three-point shots out of an attempted thirty-two.

The rebounding battle was decisively won by Toronto who gathered a total of fifty-five rebounds; fifteen were offensive rebounds which led to twenty second-chance points for them. In contrast, Charlotte managed forty-one rebounds with ten on offense that turned into fourteen second-chance points.


Assists were another area where Toronto shined brightly; distributing thirty assists which reflects their cohesive team play and ability to find open teammates effectively against Charlotte's eighteen assists.

Turnovers were an issue for both teams but more so for Toronto who committed nineteen turnovers leading to seventeen points off turnovers for Charlotte. However, this did not deter them from maintaining control throughout most of the game as indicated by their time leading being over eleven minutes compared to thirty-three minutes for Charlotte.


As fans look ahead, they can anticipate watching their beloved Raptors take on Denver Nuggets at Scotiabank Arena on December 20th at 7:30 PM local time (Eastern Time).
