Can Toronto Raptors' High-Efficiency Shooting Challenge New York Knicks' Dominance?

In a closely contested game at Scotiabank Arena, the Toronto Raptors fell short against the New York Knicks with a final score of 115-121. This result moves the Raptors to a 16-34 record for the season, while the Knicks improved their standing to 34-17. Despite the loss, Toronto showcased an impressive offensive performance, highlighted by their high shooting percentages across various metrics.

Toronto Raptors: A Display of Offensive Efficiency


The Raptors demonstrated remarkable efficiency in their shooting, converting 52 percent of their field goal attempts and an outstanding 95 percent from the free-throw line. Their prowess was not limited to two-pointers as they also made 38 percent of their attempts from beyond the arc. This multifaceted offensive display was bolstered by significant contributions from several players.


Scottie Barnes led the team with 23 points, complemented by his all-around game that included five assists and three rebounds. Jamal Shead emerged as a key playmaker for Toronto, scoring 16 points and dishing out nine assists. Kelly Olynyk's presence was felt on both ends of the court as he tallied up 11 points along with nine rebounds.


New York Knicks: Maintaining Control


The visiting Knicks managed to maintain control throughout most of the game, leading for over half an hour compared to just over twelve minutes for Toronto. Their balanced attack saw them shooting at a solid rate from both inside and outside while capitalizing on fast-break opportunities where they scored twelve points.


New York's defensive efforts were notable as well, forcing fourteen turnovers from Toronto which translated into fourteen points off turnovers. The team's ability to draw fouls proved advantageous; they attempted twenty-three free throws and made nineteen.
