From the onset, the Denver Nuggets established dominance with an impressive first-quarter lead, outscoring the Jazz by 17 points. The home team's efforts in the second quarter saw them putting up a formidable 36 points but it wasn't enough to bridge the gap created early on. Throughout the game, Utah struggled to find their rhythm and failed to take a lead at any point during play.

The Jazz's shooting percentages were telling of their struggles; they shot only 40 percent from field goals and a mere 32 percent from beyond the arc compared to Denver's more efficient rates of 49 percent and 38 percent respectively. Despite perfect free throw shooting by Utah at an impressive rate of 100 percent, it was not sufficient to counteract their opponents' offensive onslaught.

Denver showcased their defensive capabilities by accumulating a total of twelve blocks and steals each which contributed significantly to their plus-minus rating of +16. In contrast, Utah managed only two blocks and five steals throughout four quarters. Moreover, turnovers proved costly for Utah as they gave up possession fifteen times while Denver kept theirs down to ten.

On offense for Utah Jazz was notable bench production contributing forty-two points but this was overshadowed by Denver's fifty-eight points in paint dominance and eighteen second-chance points that underscored their control over rebounds both defensively and offensively.
