In their last outing on December 23 against the Golden State Warriors, the Wizards put up a commendable fight but ultimately fell short with a score of 118-129. The team's offensive efforts were notable as they managed to rack up 118 points with a field goal percentage of 45 and a three-point percentage of 31. Their ability to draw fouls and capitalize on free throws was impressive as well, hitting nearly 79 percent from the line. However, their defensive performance left much to be desired as they allowed the Warriors an efficiency game score of over 112.

The previous game on December 22 saw a closer contest against the Portland Trail Blazers where Washington emerged victorious with a narrow one-point margin (118-117). This victory showcased their resilience and ability to close out games under pressure. They demonstrated strong shooting from beyond the arc at 40 percent and maintained an effective field goal percentage above 57.

However, it's important not to overlook their performance on December 19 versus Sacramento Kings which highlighted some defensive shortcomings as they conceded a staggering 143 points. Despite scoring an impressive total themselves (131), it wasn't enough due in part to allowing Sacramento an offensive rating that eclipsed theirs significantly.

Looking ahead at this upcoming game scheduled for January 15th at Capital One Arena in Washington D.C., fans can expect that if Washington can harness its offensive strengths while tightening up defensively—particularly by reducing opponent possessions—they stand a good chance against Detroit. It will be essential for them not only maintain but also build upon their average lead time which stood around eleven minutes across these past games.

The key players for WAS will need to step up once again; drawing fouls effectively while also ensuring better ball security than seen in previous outings where turnovers were detrimental. Bench contributions could prove pivotal too; having contributed significantly in terms of points during these past performances.

For Pistons fans traveling or tuning in from afar, your team faces an uphill battle but one not insurmountable if they can exploit WAS's defensive lapses while containing their fast break attempts which have been notably efficient even in losses.

Fans eager for this matchup between Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons should mark their calendars for January 15th when these two teams collide at Capital One Arena starting at sharp eight o'clock PM Eastern Time (ET). The action will be broadcasted live on MNMT channel number six hundred forty-two or BSDET channel number six hundred sixty-three depending on your location—don't miss what is sure to be another thrilling NBA showdown!
