The Wizards have been struggling with consistency this season, as evidenced by their recent performances. Despite showing flashes of brilliance, they have not managed to string together victories. In their last game against the Dallas Mavericks, they fell short by eight points in a high-scoring affair that ended 112-104. The team's offensive output was notable with 104 points scored and a solid contribution from the bench with 27 points. However, defensive lapses allowed Dallas to maintain control throughout most of the game.

In another recent matchup against Philadelphia 76ers at home, Washington put up an impressive fight but ultimately succumbed with a six-point deficit (119-113). The Wizards showcased their scoring ability once again and improved on free throws hitting 76 percent from the line but struggled defensively allowing 119 points.

The trend continued when facing off against Boston Celtics away from home; despite scoring an impressive 129 points and shooting well from beyond the arc (43 percent), they were outpaced by Boston's relentless attack which resulted in a four-point loss (133-129).

Looking ahead to their encounter with Cleveland Cavaliers, Washington will need to focus on tightening up defensively while maintaining their offensive firepower if they wish for success. Playing in front of their home crowd could provide that extra boost needed for victory.
