The Arizona State Sun Devils displayed an impressive offensive performance despite falling short on the scoreboard. Their passing game was particularly notable, with their quarterback throwing for 362 yards and completing 62 percent of his passes, including one that went for an impressive 66 yards. However, they were unable to convert these efforts into touchdowns through the air.

On the ground, Arizona State managed to find more success with two rushing touchdowns and an average gain of six yards per play over seventy-two plays. They attempted twenty-nine rushes totaling sixty-eight yards; their longest rush was fifteen yards while their longest touchdown run was only three yards.

Special teams also contributed to Arizona State's yardage total with kick returns amassing one hundred twenty-eight yards across four attempts; their longest return stretched fifty-two yards downfield. Punt returns added thirty-two more yards on three attempts.

Defensively, Arizona State recorded two sacks for a loss of twenty-two total sack-yards and eight tackles for loss which set back their opponents by thirty-two total tackle-loss-yards. Despite these efforts, they were unable to secure any interceptions or fumble recoveries throughout the game.

Penalties seemed controlled as both teams kept them to minimal impact; The Sun Devils incurred five penalties costing them thirty-five penalty-yards but did not significantly hinder their overall performance.

Arizona State's efficiency within scoring range was perfect as they capitalized on all four red zone opportunities and all three goal-to-go situations presented during this encounter. Their field goal unit successfully converted both attempts made from within twenty-nine yards out.

As fans look ahead after this narrow defeat, attention turns toward future games where improvements can be made and victories sought after.

The next opportunity for redemption comes when Arizona State hosts Colorado Buffaloes at Mountain America Stadium in Tempe on October 7th at 3:30 PM local time (6:30 PM Eastern Time).
