Mountain America Stadium Showdown: Arizona State Sun Devils Shut Out by Fresno State Bulldogs in Football Game

In a challenging week 3 game at Mountain America Stadium, the Arizona State Sun Devils faced a tough opponent in the Fresno State Bulldogs. The home team, with a record of 1-2, could not find their footing against the undefeated Bulldogs who extended their streak to 4-0. The scoreboard reflected the one-sided affair with a final tally of 29-0.

Fresno State Bulldogs VS Arizona State Sun Devils

The Arizona State Sun Devils struggled to make an impact on both sides of the ball. Offensively, they were unable to convert any red zone opportunities into points and finished with zero touchdowns. The passing game was stifled by five interceptions and only completed 17 out of 37 attempts for a total of 188 yards. Despite these efforts, they could not break through Fresno State's defense.

On the ground, things did not fare much better for the Sun Devils as they managed only 42 rushing yards from 27 attempts – averaging just under two yards per carry. Their longest run spanned a mere eleven yards and they achieved just three first downs via rushes.

Special teams provided little respite for ASU as well; although one kickoff resulted in a touchback from their single attempt, it was overshadowed by three lost fumbles throughout the course of play which contributed significantly to their eight turnovers.

Defensively, there were some notable efforts including six sacks totaling loss yardage that amounted to nearly seventy yards against Fresno State's offense. However, this aggressive defense did little to shift momentum back towards ASU as no interceptions were recorded and no fumbles were recovered.

The visiting Bulldogs capitalized on every opportunity handed to them by ASU's mistakes and missteps. They steadily built up their lead over four quarters while keeping their own slate clean from turnovers or lost fumbles – an impressive feat that showcased discipline and control throughout ninety minutes of playtime.

Looking ahead after this tough outing at home soil, fans can mark their calendars for September twenty-fourth when Arizona State will face off against USC Trojans at Mountain America Stadium in Tempe. This night game is scheduled for an evening start at seven thirty PM local time (Arizona) and will be broadcasted live on FOX network channels where fans can tune in hoping for redemption following this difficult defeat.
