The Arizona State Sun Devils entered Rice-Eccles Stadium under clear skies to take on the formidable Utah Utes. The home team's offense was relentless throughout the game, putting up an impressive total of 55 points against the visiting team's defense. Despite their efforts, the Sun Devils managed only one successful field goal from a distance of 35 yards out of their single attempt during the entire game.

The offensive struggles for Arizona State were evident as they accumulated just 83 total yards compared to Utah's overwhelming offense. The passing game for Arizona State was particularly stifled; they completed only eight out of twenty-nine attempts for a mere forty yards and suffered four sacks which resulted in losing twenty-six yards overall. Their quarterback ended with an abysmal passer rating of approximately thirty-two.

On rushing plays, Arizona State didn't fare much better; they carried twenty-nine times but could muster only forty-three yards on those attempts – averaging less than two yards per carry. They did not manage to find any success in touchdowns either through passing or rushing plays during this tough outing.

Special teams provided some bright spots for Arizona State as their kick return unit racked up one hundred thirty return yards over four returns – highlighted by one long runback that spanned seventy-eight yards – although it did not result in scoring points.

Penalties also played a role in hindering Arizona State’s progress; they incurred six penalties amounting to fifty-seven penalty yards throughout the course of play which contributed to stalling drives and giving away advantageous positions on the field.

Looking ahead after this challenging encounter at Salt Lake City, fans can mark their calendars for another exciting college football event featuring their beloved Sun Devils. The next game is scheduled against UCLA Bruins at Rose Bowl stadium located in Pasadena on November 12th at around seven o'clock PM Pacific Time. This upcoming contest will be broadcasted live on Pac-12 Network where fans can tune in to support their team from afar or join them at this iconic venue hoping for a better outcome than what transpired today.
