Defensive Highlights and Offensive Efforts

The Auburn defense showcased resilience throughout the game, managing to sack Alabama's quarterback once for a loss of one yard and forcing four fumbles, recovering three. Safety Caleb Wooden made significant contributions with an interception and defending one pass, alongside his three tackles. Keldric Faulk's defensive prowess was on display as he forced one fumble and recovered another while making four combined tackles.

On special teams, punter Oscar Chapman had a busy day with four attempts totaling 167 yards. His longest punt sailed 45 yards, contributing to Auburn's field position battle.

Offensively, quarterback Payton Thorne threw for 301 yards with a completion rate of nearly 59 percent and connected for one touchdown. However, Thorne also threw an interception that hindered momentum. Jarquez Hunter led the rushing attack with 56 yards on thirteen carries but was unable to find the end zone despite multiple red zone attempts.

Wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith emerged as Thorne's top target by accumulating 116 receiving yards over eight catches. Cam Coleman also made notable contributions by catching seven passes for 78 yards and scoring Auburn’s lone touchdown through air assault.

Special Teams Play

Ian Vachon’s leg added another dimension to Auburn’s scoring efforts by successfully converting two out of three field goal attempts; his longest being from 37 yards out which contributed six points to Auburn’s total score.

Despite these efforts across different facets of play - defense, offense, and special teams - it wasn't enough to secure victory against a strong Alabama team in their home stadium filled with over 100 thousand fans witnessing this fierce rivalry unfold.
