At Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium, the Boise State Broncos faced a tough opponent in their first game of the regular season. Despite a valiant effort, they were unable to secure victory against the Washington Huskies. The Broncos' offense accumulated a total of 402 yards with an average gain of 5.4 yards per play over 75 plays. They managed to convert two touchdowns, one through passing and another via rushing.

The passing game saw the quarterback throwing for one touchdown and completing 22 out of 47 attempts for a total of 264 yards; however, two interceptions were also thrown during the game. The longest pass completed was an impressive touchdown for fifty yards which contributed significantly to their overall yardage.

On the ground, Boise State's rushing efforts resulted in one touchdown from twenty-eight attempts totaling up to one hundred thirty-eight yards with an average gain close to five yards per carry. Their longest rush was thirteen yards and they achieved eight first downs through rushing plays.

Special teams played their part as well; field goal kickers were successful on both attempts with the longest being thirty-nine yards contributing six points to Boise State's tally. Kickoff units covered two hundred sixty-five yards over five kickoffs but did not manage any touchbacks.

Defensively, Boise State managed to sack Washington's quarterback once for six lost yardage while recording fifty combined tackles throughout the game and forcing one fumble although it did not result in any turnovers or scores for them.

Penalties seemed under control as only three penalties were called against them amounting to twenty-nine penalty-yards lost which is relatively low compared to more penalized games.

Looking ahead after this tough loss on foreign turf, fans can look forward to supporting their team when they return home next week. The upcoming home opener will see Boise State Broncos hosting UCF Knights at Albertsons Stadium on September ninth at seven PM local time (Mountain Time).
