In a commanding display of football, the Boise State Broncos improved their season record to 2-1 with a resounding 56-14 victory over the Portland State Vikings at Albertsons Stadium. Broncos' Offensive Juggernaut


The Boise State offense was unstoppable, amassing a total of 609 yards. Quarterback Maddux Madsen led the aerial assault with precision, completing 72 percent of his passes for 188 yards and contributing three touchdowns. His longest touchdown pass stretched for an impressive 52 yards, showcasing his ability to find receivers deep downfield.


On the ground, the Broncos were equally formidable. The team rushed for an astounding total of 342 yards on just 38 attempts. Dylan Riley was particularly explosive out of the backfield, racking up 96 yards on six carries and finding the end zone twice. His longest run broke free for a remarkable 64-yard touchdown.


Defensive Dominance


The Boise State defense was relentless throughout the game, recording four sacks and eight tackles for loss against Portland State's quarterbacks. Sheldon Newton stood out on defense with one sack contributing to his four combined tackles and adding five quarterback hits that pressured Portland State throughout the game.


Alexander Teubner showcased his defensive prowess by forcing a fumble and leading with seven combined tackles which included two assists and one tackle resulting in lost yardage for Portland State.


Special Teams Contributions


Special teams also played a crucial role in Boise's victory. Punter James Ferguson-Reynolds averaged an impressive net yardage on punts while ensuring one landed inside the twenty-yard line to pin back Portland State's offense effectively.
