Boise State Broncos Stampede Over Washington State Cougars in a Dominant Display

The Boise State Broncos improved their season record to 3-1 after a commanding victory over the Washington State Cougars, who now stand at 4-1. The final score of 45-24 reflects the Broncos' dominance throughout the game, held at Albertsons Stadium in front of a crowd of 37,711 attendees.

Game Highlights


The Boise State offense was on fire, amassing a total of 460 yards. A standout performance came from Ashton Jeanty, who rushed for an impressive 259 yards on 26 attempts and scored four touchdowns. His longest run was a spectacular 64-yard dash to the end zone. Quarterback Maddux Madsen also had an efficient game, completing 12 out of his 21 pass attempts for a total of 184 yards and two touchdowns. His connection with Matt Lauter was particularly lethal; Lauter caught four passes for a total of 96 yards and two touchdowns.


On special teams, Jonah Dalmas successfully converted all six extra-point attempts and nailed his only field goal attempt from 29 yards out. The punting duties were split between Taren Schive and James Ferguson-Reynolds, who together averaged over thirty-six net yards per punt.


Defensively, the Broncos were relentless in pressuring the Cougars' quarterback with seven sacks totaling sixty-seven lost yards for Washington State. Jayden Virgin-Morgan led this defensive onslaught with one-and-a-half sacks and two quarterback hits. Ty Benefield contributed significantly by securing an interception that halted one of the Cougars' drives.
