The BYU Cougars displayed an impressive offensive performance throughout the game. The team accumulated a total of 327 yards with an average gain of 4.7 yards per play over 69 plays. The rushing attack contributed significantly to this yardage, amassing 130 yards on the ground across 37 attempts and scoring three touchdowns; their longest rush was for 24 yards. The passing game added another dimension to their offense with a total of 197 passing yards from 32 attempts and completing nearly half at a rate of approximately forty-seven percent.

Special teams also played their part for BYU as they successfully converted two field goals with the longest being from forty-eight yards out. Their punting unit managed to pin down Oklahoma State inside their own twenty-yard line four times out of eight attempts while achieving an average net yardage close to forty-three per punt.

Defensively, BYU managed two interceptions during the game and returned one for thirteen yards all the way into the end zone for a touchdown. They also recorded one sack that resulted in ten lost yards for Oklahoma State and forced two fumbles though they could not capitalize on these turnovers.

Despite these efforts by BYU, penalties did have some impact on their game as they incurred six penalties totaling forty-one penalty yards which provided additional first downs to Oklahoma State.

On the other side of the ball, Oklahoma State's performance was marked by resilience especially after trailing behind by seventeen points at halftime due to strong second-half play that saw them scoring twenty-one points including fourteen in just fourth quarter alone before securing victory with six points in double overtime periods.
