In a hard-fought game at LaVell Edwards Stadium, the BYU Cougars showcased their offensive skills against the Cincinnati Bearcats. The home team's passing game was particularly effective, with a quarterback rating of 158 and an average of nine yards per attempt. The Cougars completed two touchdown passes, including a remarkable 59-yard play that stood out as the longest for both touchdowns and completions.

On the ground, BYU managed to push through for two rushing touchdowns despite averaging only 2.5 yards per carry. One rush broke free for an impressive 29-yard touchdown run, contributing significantly to their total of five touchdowns scored during the game.

The defense also made notable contributions with one interception returned for a touchdown covering 42 yards. This play not only added points on the board but also demonstrated BYU's defensive capabilities in turning opportunities into scores.

Special teams had moments worth mentioning as well; although no punts were blocked or returned for touchdowns, one punt did travel an impressive distance of 66 yards and three punts landed inside the opposing team's 20-yard line.

The Bearcats put up a strong fight throughout each quarter but were ultimately unable to keep pace with BYU's scoring. They managed to accumulate four penalties totaling just twenty-five penalty yards which did not significantly impact their gameplay.

As fans look forward to future games, they can anticipate watching their team again when BYU travels to face off against TCU Horned Frogs at Amon G. Carter Stadium on October 14th at approximately 7:30 PM local time (Central Time). This upcoming contest will be broadcasted on ESPN network channel number two hundred six where fans can tune in to support their team from afar.
