First Quarter

The opening quarter saw both teams struggling to find their rhythm offensively. Neither team managed to score, setting a tense tone for what would become a defensive showdown.

Second Quarter

In the second quarter, the Cougs broke through first with a field goal by Will Ferrin from 26 yards out. The Y extended their lead when Bear Bachmeier connected with Chase Roberts for a touchdown pass of 17 yards. However, Utah responded with their own touchdown drive before halftime, leaving BYU ahead by just three points.

Third Quarter

The third quarter was marked by strong defensive plays from both sides as neither team could add points to their tally. Notably, Tanner Wall's interception halted one of Utah's promising drives and showcased BYU's defensive prowess.

Fourth Quarter

The final quarter was action-packed as both teams scored twice each in rapid succession. Parker Kingston’s rushing touchdown and another successful drive led by Bachmeier kept BYU in control despite Utah’s efforts to close the gap. Faletau Satuala played a crucial role defensively for BYU with eight tackles and one forced fumble that shifted momentum back in favor of the home team during critical moments.

BYU's defense held firm against late-game pressure from Utah, ensuring that they walked away victorious after an intense matchup filled with pivotal plays on both ends of the field.
