Colorado Buffaloes Narrowly Miss Victory Against Kansas State Wildcats at Folsom Field

In a closely contested battle at Folsom Field, the Colorado Buffaloes fell just short against the Kansas State Wildcats, with a final score of 28-31. This game brought the Buffaloes to a 4-2 record for the season, while the Wildcats improved to 5-1. Despite their valiant effort and a strong showing in front of a home crowd of 53,972 attendees, it wasn't enough to secure the win.

Key Highlights from the Game


The Colorado Buffaloes showcased their offensive capabilities throughout the game. Quarterback Shedeur Sanders had an impressive performance, completing 34 out of 40 attempts for a total of 388 yards. His accuracy and command over the game were evident as he managed an average of nearly ten yards per attempt and threw three touchdowns. However, Sanders also faced significant pressure from Kansas State's defense, being sacked six times.


On defense, BJ Green II stood out for Colorado with two sacks and two tackles for loss totaling sixteen yards lost by Kansas State. Taje McCoy also contributed with one sack and one tackle for loss that pushed back Kansas State by twelve yards. The defensive unit as a whole registered four sacks on Kansas State's quarterback and made fifty-three combined tackles throughout the game.


Special teams played their part too; Mark Vassett punted three times averaging forty-eight yards per punt and successfully placed two punts inside Kansas State's twenty-yard line.


Player Performances


Omarion Miller was another bright spot in Colorado's offense with eight receptions totaling one hundred forty-five receiving yards. LaJohntay Wester added fifty-eight receiving yards on five catches including two touchdowns which were crucial in keeping Colorado competitive until the last quarter.


Isaiah Augustave’s contribution to Colorado’s rushing attack was notable despite limited opportunities; he scored one touchdown on just three carries contributing ten rushing yards overall.

The next challenge awaiting the Colorado Buffaloes will be an away game against Arizona Wildcats at Arizona Stadium in Tucson on October 19th, scheduled for 4:00 PM EDT broadcasted on FOX network channels. Fans are eager to see how they will bounce back after this narrow defeat.
