Football Fever Hits Fort Collins: Colorado State Rams Prepare to Host San Jose State Spartans

As the Colorado State Rams gear up to face the San Jose State Spartans at Sonny Lubick Field at Canvas Stadium, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be a thrilling football encounter. The Rams' recent performances have been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, but there's reason to believe that they could turn the tide in their favor this time around.

Colorado State Rams VS San Jose State Spartans

In their last game on November 12, 2017, against Boise State Broncos, the CSU offense was nothing short of explosive. They racked up an impressive 566 total yards with a balanced attack that saw them gain 261 yards on the ground and 309 through the air. Their red zone efficiency was remarkable, converting at an 89 percent success rate. Despite falling short by seven points in a high-scoring affair where they put up 52 points against Boise State's formidable defense, it was clear that when clicking, CSU's offense can compete with anyone.

However, it wasn't just about offense; CSU showed glimpses of defensive prowess as well. They managed two sacks and five tackles for loss while also forcing two turnovers against Boise State. This kind of defensive playmaking will be crucial when they line up against SJS.

The Spartans should not be underestimated though; their tenacity and resilience make them formidable opponents. Yet if we look back at CSU's game on November 4th against Wyoming Cowboys where they lost by just three points in another close contest—13-16—it becomes evident that CSU has been within striking distance of victory even when things haven't gone entirely their way.

One area where CSU needs to improve is ball security; turnovers have cost them dearly in past games such as their October 28th matchup with Air Force Falcons where they gave away three interceptions despite accumulating over four hundred total yards on offense.

The upcoming game presents an opportunity for redemption for the Rams. With home-field advantage and a fan base hungry for victory after recent near-misses, there is every chance that this could be a defining moment in their season.

Rams fans should mark their calendars for November 18th when these two teams will clash under the lights at Sonny Lubick Field at Canvas Stadium starting from 8:30 PM local time (MDT). For those who can’t make it to Fort Collins or want to catch all the action live from home or elsewhere can tune into CBS Sports Network available via satellite channel number 221.
